Year 9
All students study English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, and Health and Physical Education and Technology. There are also English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Academic Literacy courses available. Along with this students can have the option of a language from Maori and Samoan.
Year 10
All students study English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Health and Physical Education. All students select at least one Technology and one Arts subject from Drama, Dance, Music, and practical art. Students also have the option of Maori and Samoan.
Year 11
Students work towards a NCEA level 1. Level I NCEA can be issued to students who have achieved:
- 80 credits from level 1 or higher
- 8 literacy credits at level 1 or higher
- 8 numeracy credits at level 1 or higher
All students study English, Mathematics and Science/Geography plus three other subjects.
Year 12
Students work towards NCEA Level 2.
NCEA Level 2 can be issued to students who have achieved:
- 60 credits from level 2 or higher
- 20 additional credits at any level
All students study English and five other subjects.
Year 13
Students work towards NCEA Level 3.
NCEA Level 3 can be issued to students who have achieved:
- 60 credits from level 3 or higher
- 20 credits at level 2 or higher.
Students choose six option subjects at this level.
Some subjects also prepare students for Scholarship examinations.
